Happy New Year

Updated December 31, 2011

Doc Sheldon

This is my last post of 2011, and probably the most difficult to type, as I’m doing it on a borrowed netbook.

My computer finally gave up the ghost this morning, after 2-1/2 years of 16+ hours a day, 7 days a week abuse. I guess I can’t complain… Dell probably didn’t figure on that kind of use when they designed that laptop. The keyboard was worn naked long ago, so it’s a good thing I can touch-type.

I won’t have another computer ’til around Tues. or Wed. of next week, but I wanted to pop in and wish everyone a safe and happy New Year, and a very prosperous 2012.

To those that have stuck with me throughout the year, thank you. Since last month, you’re sticking by me and Lisa, my “partner in crime”.

Which reminds me…

Lisa, Happy New Year to you and yours, as well. Having you as a partner is the best thing that happened to me in 2011 and I’m sure we’re headed for bigger and better things together.

To the gang in the SEO Dojo, thanks to each of you, too! I’ve learned a lot of great stuff and had more than a little fun with you all. I’m looking forward to spending 2012 dissecting SEO techniques with you, even more.

Finally, to a bunch of my special e-friends (who I won’t embarrass by naming, ’cause you know who you are), thanks for believing in me, putting up with me and supporting me!

Happy New Year to you all!

Testing for my buddy, Josh, here’s a link to a good SEO provider

  1. Happy new year to you as well. You have a blog that’s useful to a lot of people. Keep up the good work.

  2. Happy New Year Doc! Hopefully you can get a deal on your new computer at one of the after Christmas sales.

  3. Hey, great to see you here. Thanks, that’s what I’m hoping.

  4. Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from a long time reader, first time commenter. Your posts are always informative, well written, and interesting. Thank you.

  5. Thanks, Ellie! I hope your Christmas and New Year was a great one. And the kind words are appreciated! Now that you’re a regular commenter, I hope to see your name pop up more often. 😉

  6. Happy new year Doc. Good luck getting a new comp. Mine died on me mid 2011. Went for an Asus as they are cheap and fast. Cheers

  7. Thanks, Brid. Yeah, the Asus looks pretty good. Acer’s quality has improved greatly, too. And Happy New Year to you, as well!

  8. Astro Gremlin says:

Happy New Year, Doc. Hope you had everything backed up. A power surge fried my computer awhile back.

  9. Thanks, Gremlin! Actually, I was very fortunate. I backed up my entire file system, even several thousand emails, the day before it failed. So I only lost a half dozen articles that I wrote for a client, that I’ve redone. Considering that such things usually happen before I perform a backup, I can’t complain too much. 😉

  10. What is your new notebook? I am looking for a new laptop to change my Dell Latitude D630.

PS I like your thumb pic very much! Are you black hat seo guy? 😉

    Happy New Year!

  11. Hi, Reima-

I didn’t get a notebook, but decided to go with a PC, since I’m always at my desk anyway. Besides, laptops cost more. 😉
    Thanks for commenting.
